Police Clear Another Hilltop Shooting

Arrests have been made in a shooting last month on Brownsville Road in Knoxville. Pittsburgh police announced the arrests of Daquan Moore, 20, of Brookline, Romier Nevels, 17, of Dormont and Antwan Martinez, 17, of Beltzhoover. Charges include criminal homicide, aggravated assault and criminal conspiracy. Nevels and Martinez were charged as adults.

Around 10:30 the evening of September 10, Curtis Pounds, 15, was pronounced dead of gunshot wounds in the 500 block of Brownsville Road. Pounds, of Beltzhoover, attended ninth grade at Pittsburgh Carrick High School and had recently joined the Raiders football team.

A 43-year-old man and another 15-year-old boy were grazed by bullets and taken to UPMC Mercy in stable condition. Bullets also struck two parked vehicles, which were unoccupied, and a pizza shop.
