Along with publishing stories, other aspects of CarrickExtra.com have been improved.
Now it’s easier to share stories that you have enjoyed to Facebook, Twitter or the /r/Pittsburgh subreddit. Look for icons at the bottom of a story that you wish to share. Click the icon for the social media you want to share to. Review what you see, add what you want and click the post button. You have to be logged into Facebook, Twitter or Reddit for this to work.
You can also email someone a link to a story. Click the envelope icon to pop up your usual (or default) mail client.
Improvements were made to other parts of CarrickExtra.com:
- Links in the footer are spaced farther apart, making it easier to tap them correctly on a phone
- When an alert appears at the bottom, it is also is spaced better and is easier to tap on a phone
- Notes are added underneath stories that have been updated explaining why
CarrickExtra.com has done behind-the-scenes upgrades, including making pages display faster and keeping track of which stories people are reading. Knowing what stories people like to read about Carrick and surrounding neighbrohoods is good to know when each month’s stories are selected.
The website still doesn’t collect any personal information – story tracking is anonymous.
